Napster goes free

Napster has gone free! Napster becomes the first legal digital music service to offer music fans free, on-demand listening of songs and albums in .swf flash format, delivered at 32kbps.

You can listen to all the music for FREE at napster.com. The new buisness model is “Free” ad-supported streaming. It is only available in US for now. New features include:
  • NapsterLinks -hyper links for email/blogs linking to music
  • Narchive - expanded artist bio info and interactive community

There are charges if you need an enhanced experience of music listening

Solving the multi-platform challenge in mobile devices

The writing is on the wall is clear with mobile devices becoming mainstream business devices. In addition to the current workhorse – the PC, consumers and businesses are adopting internet connected smartphones and tablets in record numbers. The path for mobile device enablement for businesses is fragmented and full of challenging decisions. This starts from mobile application landscape being multi-platform and multi-resolution. While Android uses Java, iOS uses Objective-C, Windows Phones use .NET.
